CLEVELAND, OH – Jergens Inc. (Cleveland, Ohio) recently opened its FastForward machining efficiency technology center, featuring a Haas VF-SS super-speed vertical machining center, supported by Haas Factory Outlet, A Division of Midwest Manufacturing Resources. The regional center will focus on the Maker/Manufacturing movement and its significance to the nation’s economy. The center is intended to feature advanced manufacturing technology for demonstration and education, hosting regular events such as seminars and classes.
“With this dedicated space, we are further stepping up our efforts to promote training and education across the board, including customers, suppliers, partners, students and the community that serves manufacturing”, says Jack Schron, president of Jergens. “We are looking to expand the knowledge base for the vocational workforce and those pursuing a career in manufacturing, and to encourage creativity to think, make and grow.”
Haas Automation (Oxnard, California) is partnering with Jergens by providing its newest VF-4SS (50″x-travel, 20″ y-travel, 25″z-travel) vertical machining center to FastForward along with the process technology that goes with it. The Haas high-performance Super-Speed vertical machining centers, by Haas provide the high spindle speeds, fast rapids and quick tool changes necessary for high-volume production and reduced cycle times. Each SS machine features a 12,000-rpm, inline direct-drive spindle, an ultra-fast side-mount tool changer, and high-speed rapids on all axes. An optional 15,000-rpm spindle is available.
The Haas 12,000-rpm, inline direct-drive spindle is coupled directly to the motor to reduce vibration, heat, and noise. The 30 hp vector drive system provides plenty of low-end torque, as well as the speed necessary for high-speed machining operations. The fast rapids and quick tool changes of the SS machines increase throughput and reduce cycle times for economical high-volume production. The generous size of the T-slot tables easily accommodates multiple fixtures.
Haas Automation, based in Oxnard, CA, delivers more standard features, high-tech innovations, and solid engineering than any other CNC manufacturer – and at better prices. All Haas CNC machine tools and Rotary Products are made in the USA. And high-quality Haas machines are engineered for simple maintenance, easy set up, and low-cost operation.
